Me and several of my friends dumped cable long ago in favor of using a device like the Roku pictured here instead. Roku is an inexpensive little box that connects your TV to your internet which allow access to services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Movies.
I spend $7.99 per month for Netflix and $7.99 per month for Hulu Plus for access to more TV shows, movies, concerts and documentaries than I can watch.
IF you can live without local news and live sports this is a fantastic way to save upwards of $100 per month while having a much better (less commercials) viewing experience.
*Chromecast is a another inexpensive option if you have a extra phone or tablet to control it. Roku includes a remote control.
